THERE IS TOO MUCH TO TELL AFTER 18 YEARS OF CONSULTING!

It's easy to get caught up in technical stuff. I could rattle off all sorts of techno-terms to impress you.  I could try to make myself sound like I have some genius IQ.  I won't and I don't.

Bottom line I have not changed my profession since I ventured out into the brutal jungle we call "Self Employed".  In most cases "Self Employed" means you work at a job for less money and without vacations.

The truly successful people come up with systems and processes to move their status from "Self Employed" to "Business Owner".   That is a VERY DIFFICULT transition.  Never mind trying to be profitable.

I have done both. I am not just a consultant.  I own and manage two Software Development companies.  Website Forge (www.websiteforge.com) and Magnus Software (www.magnusoft.com).  My businesses run profitably and have teams in place to make sure they run smoothly.

I have learned how to put processes in place and of course leverage technology to help my teams reduce errors and improve support.

WHATS HOT?

Currently I am gettling lots of requests for the following:

  • Connecting POS or Order Systems to e-commerce web sites.
  • Quickbooks Syncs and connectors.
  • Integration with Oracle and MSSQL systems.
  • PCI Compliance solutions (I am a PCI QSA)
  • Search Engine Marketing Technology

WHATS NEW

The newest trend is both using and building cloud based platforms.  In fact my team engineered and implemented our Website Forge cloud at www.websiteforge.com.

The PCI Compliance requirements are pretty new.  Many mid sized businesses are forced to work with HUGE PCI QSA companies because it's too expensive to become a QSA company for a small business.  I'm proud to say that Magnus Software, Inc. is a PCI QSA company.  I am personally a QSA.  PCI Compliance is a necessary evil.  I personally believe that many QSA's are taking advantage of the small business and over-selling the solutions needed.  I like to provide solutions that solve their PCI issues while saving them their hard earned money.

WHY ME?

Because there is more to a consultant.

Knowledge is just one part.  I have knowledge.  Some is technical.  Some is experience.  Some is practical.

Relationships are a big part of what makes a good consultant.  I have teams I have worked with for more than a decade.  Domestic and off-shore.  I have many US teams.  I also have teams in Russia, India, Peru, and Canada that I have long term relationships with.

I can get the job done.  If I don't have an immediate answer -- I have the right person to ask.
